Lost your keyless entry remote? Bought your mustang without one? Here is a quick, easy, and most importantly, inexpensive way of getting another. This works on any mustang with keyless entry, I believe, but make sure you have the black box in the trunk before you do (see below to understand what I mean). Go to eBay and buy a keyless entry remote for your year mustang. It shouldn't cost you more than $20. Once you have it, make sure it's got a battery in the back. (duh). Now, it's time to program it. The Ford dealership will charge upwards of $100 to do this. You can do it yourself in approximately 90 seconds: Put your key in the ignition, and make contact, but don't turn the car on. Find the keyless entry control module, located on the left quarter panel area. Where the hell is that, you say? It's in the trunk of the car, right beside the left tire underneath all the padding. See pic. Then, you can use a safety pin or what works even better, a car fuse to connect the two little pins on the plug sticking out of the control module. See pic. Once you "jump" those two little pins, the locks will cycle (lock and unlock by themselves)--This sets the module in "programming mode." You now have 10 seconds to hit "lock" on the remote you bought from ebay. The locks should now lock. Congratulations!! You now have programmed your new remote. You can do this with up to 4 remotes, but no more, otherwise the the 5th programming will erase the 1st. Enjoy!
